It all connects anyway. Land. Even if submerged. I wonder if you can buy land below the oceans? If you wanted.
Then you could fence it off (with really high fences :) and make ships/subs pay to cross it!
Yeah, we are the dominant species, we own it all! And look out planets, asteroids, moons, etc., here we come to own you, too!
K, now I’ve drifted from the topic.
But, if those Mariana Microbes slowly ascended, couldn’t they possibly evolve to more complex organisms over time? Then again, there probably is no need for them to, and have thus reached the height of their development?
I dunno, I just find it all very fascinating.
Especially the discovery, at such depth, of large (some exceeding 4") single celled amoebaish xenophyophores that surround, then absorb, their food....the Syfy network is missing a big opportunity for a new horror film with this, some nuclear waste was dumped and they grow to gargantuan size, and then a tornado comes along.....!
Our Earth alone is such an awesome living host, with such diversity of parasitic life living off it (like us), and can you imagine what might be out there beyond even our universe?
Oh, and I also think it interesting that the spot closest to the center of Earth is actually parts of the Arctic Ocean seabed, and not the Mariana Trench, because the earth kinda bulges around it's middle at the equator. Earth's love handles :)
K, I'm done now.
