I thought perhaps, since there is a winding slide/ramp that leads to a tube (see photo) and then into the wheel, she was afraid, being so small, and wasn't sure of the distance between said tube and slide/ramp. Climbing up is simple, climbing down can be quite frightening, I'm sure. Down can represent falling because one falls down, but just trips up? Anyway, frantic, I removed the wheel and coaxed her out then placed her back to the bottom of the habitat where she immediately returned to the slide/ramp, climbed up and entered the exercise wheel once again *sigh*
I later found that she did indeed know how to exit the wheel and return to the bottom of her enclosure, which she did, carried some food in her cheeks back up to the wheel, deposited it in a little pile, began eating, then later dozed off there.
I guess she likes loft living.
It's funny, she'll run around in the wheel (as you can see in the video) then she stops, climbs partially out and looks around, then returns and starts running again. Dunno if she thinks it will transport her to somewhere else and is disappointed that it all looks the same no matter how long she runs?
Well, maybe it looks the same because it is simply an identical alternate reality! How would one know if nothing was different, right? We could be living identical alternate realities every single day of our lives!!!
Anyways, she's very sweet and does not bite when handled.
Only once in a while.
On a sort of related topic-
Tokyo's One-person Express Train Pods
Well, at least up to 100mph anyway. I don't think I'd like that sort of confinement, kinda coffin-like.
Dunno why Ham-Lin's running in the wheel made me think about this...
