Yeah, we're all a bunch of hypocrites, it's part of human nature. Sometimes we are sincerely unaware, other times we just ignore it. It helps protect one's ego, one's self image. That way it needs less polishing away of tarnish.
No one wants any of their faults pointed out. Personally, I try to beat everyone to it by knowing my faults and exacting self punishment. It's why I'm depressed a lot. But this is not about me.
Hypocrisy is far more easily and readily noticed by someone else, and they will always wag a finger at you, to be sure.
I'm a hypocrite. I won't deny it or make excuses. All you have to do is read some of what I've written here.
I'm not proud of it, I've just become....indifferent. To save what little there is left of my sanity *sigh*
Anyway, I'd say it's not only individuals but social, religious, governmental etc., though no matter how you look at it, it's still a human trait.
Either gloss over it or blame someone else.
