posted a selfie, all beaten up around the face, and said her
boyfriend did it to her.
It was faked. She told my friend it was done with makeup.
She just wanted to see what sort of reaction she would get from
friends online. Yeah. That's messed up.
Any sort of physical and/or mental/emotional abuse is uncalled for and, imo,
that was just making a mockery of those who are/have been abused.
If it was done to prove a point, to make a statement about abuse, and then revealed as being faked, is one thing.
There are a lot of lives out there, children, adults, pets, animals in general, that are abused. It's not a joking matter.
Some abuse others, because they themselves were abused. I suppose, to them, it is some type of revenge, but on an innocent instead of the one that had abused them. Still doesn't make it right.
And some abuse because it makes them feel superior, which probably means they have issues within themselves, and this is how they resolve it. Again, there is no excuse.
And I guess there are some that just find pleasure in hurting others.
I'm talking here both types of abuse, physical and mental/emotional.
Yeah, with physical, the body generally will heal, even if scarred as a
reminder, but the emotional abuse just leads to fear, distrust and withdrawal from everyone.
This happens not only to humans, but to nonhumans (as in other species), too.
Sometimes, the hurt is so bad on the inside, it never heals, and many
keep it to themselves out of fear.

Do You Think I'm a Joke
The problem for most is overcoming the fear and doing something about it. A lot of times, people that are abused blame themselves for it. That they deserve it. Or make excuses for the one (or ones) that are doing the abuse. Some abusers don't even realize how badly they are hurting another, or that what they are doing is even considered abusive....
