Oh what we'll persevere for era-centric beauty trends!
What I meant was waxing nostalgically.
I visited a site to which I was once an active member.
Read some of the old posts dating back to 2013.
Fun times.
in a sense, 'twas a communal diary/journal.
It actually went even further back in time, but those moments were lost due to rebranding and modernization.
Out with the old years, in with the new.
Almost everyone is gone from there now.
Most rooms empty of exchange, save for the echoes of once upon a time.
Invisible sheets drape the furnishings.
The banshee that remained haunting the halls was exorcised and is no more.
There were many a good time had.
Now only memories.
Alas, as with all, everyone moved on.
The forum is quiet.
Such is life.
Saddens me.
Without attention, growth and productivity, participants and audience will slowly drift away.
I tell myself, 'march on little soldier, move ever forward, what has past is gone until the next round.
Perhaps all will be righted then....'
As Robbie Burns questioned so many, many years ago.....
and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
and auld lang syne*?
For auld lang syne, my jo,
for auld lang syne,
we'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
And surely ye'll be your pint-stoup!
and surely I'll be mine!
And we'll tak' a cup o’ kindness yet,
for auld lang syne.
We twa hae run about the braes,
and pou'd the gowans fine;
But we've wander'd mony a weary fit,
sin' auld lang syne.
We twa hae paidl'd in the burn,
frae morning sun till dine;
But seas between us braid hae roar'd
sin' auld lang syne.
And there's a hand, my trusty fiere!
and gie's a hand o' thine!
And we'll tak' a right gude-willie waught,
for auld lang syne.
Cheers!
