Sooo many emails to filter through! Friend sent me this because she knows I like Batman....and bagpipes. Maybe it's a fetish for things starting with the letter B? Nah. Actually, I may have posted this elsewhere on my blog? Too much to sift through to check. Eh, worth posting again. Anyways. ...and she lived happily.....well, let's just say she lived....ever in between..
from old file folders and an email address I will be deleting, so decided to chirp a few things (articles, memes, etc.) I found amusing. Older stuffs that you may or may not have already seen. Guess I should have titled this 'Nostalgia'.
Anyways, I found some of the following funny. Yes, I live in my own little Halloween Town. In my head. Where there's always Halloween....and lots and lots of other stuff and things. I make up my own holidays. Perhaps I'll share some of them here. Perhaps not. Some might be too bizarre. But fun. And sometimes not. Sometimes scary. But I digress as usual. The main reason I'm chirping this is the art students in the beginning of the parade, though the entire parade is sheer awesomeness. Ah, Japan, I love you <3 (None are mine, just discoveries found) First, the adorable! Next, the amusing! Lastly, the annoyingly fun. Warning, it will loop in your head! Ryuk's great. A brilliant creation, as are the others above as well! (Take note, shows as not a secure site so use at your own risk. Yeah, I did. Just too cool not to. Any problems, blame the Smithsonian with their annoying ads as well *pfft*.) I can see who my neighboring countries were.
In the beginnings, my area was on the shore of the west coast of the short-lived Pannotia supercontinent during the Ediacaran Period, 600 million years ago, and neighboring on Africa. Life was evolving in the sea, and multicellular life is just beginning to emerge. According to the map, during the Pangaea supercontinent, my area was more centralized, bordering on Western Sahara. By the Jurassic Period my area was where it is today accordingly, though most likely marshy areas. Explains the Hadrosaurus Foulkii. Cool. My soul is lost. Wandering in the dark. Alone. I can't find the path. The light that guided me has gone out.
I'm afraid. Here's a Valentine present I made just for you :) Simply print, cut and assemble. It is my take on the classic historical 'bird in cage' thaumatrope, a replica of which can be seen in the Tim Burton film 'Sleepy Hollow'. (Video clip below) Meant to add, a hole punch works well for aligning the holes before gluing, and don't forget, one image must be upside down when glued! Also, a glue stick works well to adhere disks together. Doubling the string works best (see in video below.) I made one myself to make sure it works. It does. Made a second, more melancholy one. Total eclipse of the heart... ‘Once upon a time I was falling in love But now I'm only falling apart There's nothing I can do A total eclipse of the heart’ (Rather disturbing video, but then it was the '80s?)
*For those that did not get it, no, not Happy Madmartigan on a Fork Day, think again.
Dang, I miss those old fantasy films, 'Willow', 'Legend', 'Labyrinth'..... |
SparrowraithYes, I'm a psychopomp (mad+hair.) Sales pitch: *Cheep* guide to the Otherside! Of course there's a fee, blame Charon! 'Chirp' is my antisocial media site
