Back then, in the Paleocene-Eocene, there were no humans, no ‘we’, maybe ‘we’ can add calcium to the oceans to neutralize it? Yeah, sounds too easy. But at least it’s thinking positive, unlike the rant that's in the next paragraph.
Anyway, I sure hope we are the other species that thrived in the changed environment/climate, or at least rapidly adapt and evolve. Seems we’re pretty good at adapting, either ourselves or adapting other things to suit our needs....which may have contributed to getting us into this mess in the first place.

Next paragraph.
I kinda wonder if we, as a species, are losers, simply deluding ourselves into believing we are important?
When the earth is no longer habitable, we either all go, or for those that might escape, how long before they start quarreling/warring over whose in charge of what is left (or who ‘owns’ planetary rights if we expand out into the universe)?
Maybe, to be true ‘winners’ we have to quit the quarreling/warring amongst ourselves, stop being greedy and taking the stance ‘we’re the masters that rule the earth’....for nature will surely find a way to prove us wrong. I guess it might end up being our ultimate enemy. Dirty, filthy nature must go and be replaced by concrete and sterility.
No, it’s time to start protecting the planet and not just utilizing it for our own benefit.
Yes, I know what you’re thinking, ‘There she blows, spouting her annoying ‘save the planet’ crap. Next she’ll fume on about saving the ocean to save the whales (*see article above; many whale species, among other creatures, eat plankton [of course, according to the writers of SpongeBob SquarePants, plankton is rather nasty with a Napoleon]...wait, does that mean, extinctifying [yeah, made that one up] certain whales will preserve more plankton? Then the whales die and their skeletons add calcium back to the ocean? Now this is a dilemma!) Further continuation of original comment> ‘Sod off, nature girl, nobody’s listening or cares!’

BUT, there is hope in finding solutions. Perhaps THIS could help....or just make things worse.
Geesus I’m so back and forth. Positive/Negative, Happy/Sad, Nice/Naughty <(‘hope’ Santa doesn’t read that last one! :)
