Stuff-
1. The material of which anything is made, such as 'a hard, crystalline stuff.'
2. Material to be worked upon or to be used in making something; wood, steel, and other stuff for building.
3. Material of some unspecified kind, as in 'a cushion filled with some soft stuff.'
4. (Chiefly British ) Woven material or fabric, especially wool. Example 'I shall beat the bloody stuff(ing) out of you!' (as expressed by Christopher Robin, when in the midst of a melt-down, to Winnie-the-Pooh. No, not really, I made that up.)
5. Property, as personal belongings or equipment; things.
OR
1. To fill (a receptacle), especially by packing the contents closely together; to cram full, i.e. 'Take it any way thou wilt, just stuffeth it in tightly' (sometimes erroneously referred to as 'Old English', though it is, in actuality, Early Modern English. Yeah. )
2. To fill (an aperture, cavity, etc.) by forcing something into it. (Which is basically the same as #1.)
3. To fill or line with some kind of material as a padding or packing. (as opposed to 'cramming')
4. To fill or cram (oneself, one's stomach, etc.) with food.
5. To fill (meat, vegetables, etc.) with seasoned bread crumbs or other savory matter....mmm, savory matter....

Things-
1. Material objects without life or consciousness; inanimate objects. (Actually fits some people I know.)
2. Some entities, objects, or creatures that are not or cannot be specifically designated or precisely described, as in 'That stick had some unsavory 'things' on the end of it'. (mhmm, unsavory matter.)
3. Anything that is, or may become, an object of thought. Things of the spirit.
4. Things, matters; affairs, i.e. 'Things are going well now.' (They definitely aren't. Are they ever?)
5. Facts, circumstances, or states of affairs: 'They are curious things.' Aren't we all?
OR To
1. Do/find one's own thing(s), (informal). To pursue a lifestyle that expresses one's self. Also, do/find one's thing(s). What, in case one's thing(s) are missing?
2. Make a good thing of. To turn (a situation, experience, etc.) to one's own profit; benefit by. 'She made a good thing of her spare-time hobbies.'
3. Not to get a thing out of (Get a thing out of what? A 'thing' physically out of something, like 'get that 'thing' out of me, now!, or philosophically speaking?)
a. To be unable to obtain information or news from 'The police couldn't get a thing out of him, so they performed a cavity search.'
b. To fail to appreciate, understand, or derive aesthetic pleasure from, as in 'My wife likes opera, but I don't get a thing out of it.' (He may later, if he goes along pleasantly.)
4. See/hear things (informal). To have hallucinations.
