I posted previously concerning the technique called fumage, fire painting. This just mesmerizes me.
'Fumage is a surrealist art technique popularized by Wolfgang Paalen in which impressions are made by the smoke of a candle or kerosene lamp on a piece of paper or canvas.Salvador Dalí later utilized the technique in his paintings, calling the technique "sfumato". The technique has been utilized by several artists such as Yves Klein, Burhan Doğançay, Jiri Georg Dokoupil, Otto Piene, Antonio Muñiz, Bimal Banerjee, Hugh Parker Guiler, Steven Spazuk and Adam Blakemore.' This is incredible! I believe the process is akin to the marbled covers and/or endpapers found in early books.

I wonder how much that 'art instillation piece' *coughglassescough* would have marketed for?
(I'm actually surprised no one picked them up and took them to the lost and found.)

I'm really intrigued with the Bayeux Tapestry, and have thought about making one in miniature, since the real one is 240'x20". Yep, 240 feet! Impressive. Just as impressive, copies have been made, the original being preserved and displayed in Bayeux, in Normandy, France.
You can read more about it and the copies at the Reading Museum's Britain's Bayeux Tapestry.
Below is an interesting animated version-

Kids, don't try this at home! In case you get your hands on some gunpowder. But better used for art than aggression.

You must know how much I love puppets! This is pretty cool-

I know I will continue to draw and paint no matter what, it's something inside me that has to come out,
And for an alternative to inspiration.....
And, if you want lessons, you can go to the Bruce High Quality Foundation Univeristy for FREE and learn HOW to make art, shit!
Sounds kinda like the Derek Zoolander School for Kids Who Can't Read Good and Want to Do Other Stuff Good Too.
Then again, you can just do your own thing without lessons. An art teacher I had in middle school told me once that I shouldn't take lessons, that sometimes lessons ruin raw talent, but I guess, to each his own or whatever.

The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam inspires interactive art...and not as forgers!

Honestly, I think this a brilliant idea and that more museums should incorporate it at least periodically!
It really annoys me when people say 'I can't draw', sure you can, everyone can to a different degree!

I love all forms of art. Some forms go unrecognized, taken for granted and are not appreciated as such.
Anyway, I find this quite moving-

I hope, that wherever he is now, Vincent can feel the love and appreciation of his life's work.

I love origami and paper-craft art in general. A friend of my mom gave me an old Rupert the Bear book that was hers when she was little (because she knows how much I love books), which had directions for making an origami elephant and that is what got me interested in the art.

Children (and adults, too) should be encouraged to draw. And read/write. They are great outlets for a lifetime.
And though I do not believe in false praise, one must take into consideration not only age, but not all see/interpret things the same way, which is the beauty and diversity of art. Constructive advice (I do not like the term 'criticism') can help, but art is freedom and should never try to be molded into a precise set of rules. In my opinion.

This is a really interesting concept. I love stuff like this and I hope he plans on publishing it in English.

Some more comic art-
~ ~ ~
Comic book art (sort of like 'outsider art') has not always been considered acceptable to the snobbery of the fine-arts world, but I beg (well, no, I really wouldn't 'beg' in one sense of the word, at least not to elitist, think they're better-than-you crowd, it's merely an expression) to differ, it should fully be recognized as fine as any art, imo, but then, there are those who feel anything other than functional art is a waste, and to those i say 'fie on you' and, the more well known, 'bite me'!
Anyway, some may find this interesting.
