Epic! Want!
Meet Gudetama, the newest from Sanrio! See further adventures of Gudetama and more at Sanriojapan on YT. And Gudetama has a Twitter account! I can understand Gudetama making a slight effort to exercise (see video above and Gudetama's Twitter page) what with having cholesterol. *nods with serious expression*
The Japanese really know the meaning of the word adorable, Gudetama is cutest+! Can you imagine if this was taken a step further, like drew stuff and then, if they could animate? I'm picturing in my head a life-sized animated TRex....mind-blowing! Actually, I'm thinking of a lot of fun things you could make with this pen. And if you missed it (like I did) there is this- And even NASA's doing it! <(from i09) So where's my holodeck!
A friend surprised me with three comic books that were not available at Fat Jack's. One is a 20th anniversary Hellboy sampler- Great stories and art, and below is a sample of one of the extras- Hellboy newspaper comic strip style parodies, created, both stories AND art, by R. Sikoryak- Really clever. The above is a parody of 'Popeye', the other strips are parodies of 'Kriegaffe' (Garfield), 'Paranormals' (Peanuts), 'Igor B...' (Ziggy), 'The Family Monaghan' (Family Circle), 'The Baba Yaga' (which I think is Hägar the Horrible maybe?), 'Rod Zinco' (Dilbert maybe?) and one called 'Kate Corrigan and Occultism for Kids' (of which i have no idea what strip it's a parody of.) Anyway, this is a great sampler comic altogether, if you can get your hands on one. She is soooo, cute! And, as you notice, some bonus art featuring 'Bravest Warriors' by Pendleton Ward (of 'Adventure Time'). Inside, at the back, are 'The Search for Catbug', similar to 'Where's Waldo'. Here is a sample (the artwork is uber fun, very Pen Ward, and Catbug is REALLY difficult to find!)- And coming in July, you can purchase a 64pp hardcover of 'Bravest Warriors: The Search for Catbug', and in August, 'Bravest Warriors Presents: Catbug's Treasure Book'. And last, but not least, the 'Ugly Doll Comics', also with extras. I love the plush and vinyls of these! See, it's ok to be ugly, because beauty is in the eyes of the Beholder...they will put a spell on you! ;)
Ugly Dolls So, I guess 'May the Fifth be with you'....nah, never mind. Well, I suppose if it were a fifth of tequila...nah, that would probably kill you. Anyway, Happy Fifth of May! The history- Some food- Some drink- Guess tequila could change the perspective of the song ‘nobody likes me, everybody hates me, guess I'll go eat worms.' or not- ‘It is a common misconception that some tequilas contain a 'worm' in the bottle. Only certain mezcals, usually from the state of Oaxaca, are ever sold con gusano (with worm), and that only began as a marketing gimmick in the 1940s. The worm is actually the larval form of the moth Hypopta agavis, which lives on the agave plant. Finding one in the plant during processing indicates an infestation and, correspondingly, a lower-quality product. However, this misconception continues, despite effort and marketing to represent tequila as a premium liquor – similar to the way Cognac is viewed in relation to other brandies.’ (Wikipedia) It can also change the perspective on engagement rings. or not- ‘In 2008, Mexican scientists discovered a method to produce tiny, nanometer-sized synthetic diamonds from 80-proof (40% alcohol) tequila, which has the optimal range of water to ethanol for producing synthetic diamonds. This process involves heating the tequila to over 800 ̊C (1,400 ̊F) to break its molecular structure and be vaporized into gaseous hydrogen, carbon, and various simple molecules. The carbon molecules are then settled upon steel or silicon trays to form a thin and pure uniform layer. Extremely cheap to produce and far too small for jewels, the results are hoped to have numerous commercial and industrial applications such as in computer chips or cutting instruments.’ (Wikipedia) Anyhow, what girl would settle for a nonometer-sized synthetic diamond. A jewelers loupe just wouldn't work, it would have to come with an electron microscope of some sort. Cheaper to go with the traditional diamond. And how small is a nanometer you might ask? Or maybe not? To answer your question, that is if you asked, and even if you hadn't, here is this, anyway- maybe this explains it better- Wow, from Happy Cinco de Mayo to nanotechnology.
Just goes to show how one thing leads to the next and so on and so fifth of May! Have a good one! *abrazo* :) (not my defunct forum that was once here, but if I can get my friend who plays the uke, with me on guitar, perhaps we will audition!) and as the fourth comes to an end, May the fifth be with you?
(better than May the Sith be with you...unless, of course, you are with the dark side of the fourth!) I went. I saw. I got some awesome free comics!
Visited with Fat Jack's cats, while at that wonderful little Comicrypt. The shop has two very fat cats! They're uber sweet....I want a kitten even more now :( but I digress Here are the comics I got: Les Miserables: The Fall of Fantine Guardian of the Galaxy Kaboom (with Adventure Time, The Regular Show and more) Courtney Crumrin Grimm Fairy Tales Age of Darkness V Wars Futures End Armor Hunters Uber I really wanted Finding Gossamyr Way of the Bladeslinger, Far From Wonder, Showa and Zombie Tramp but they had none left (or didn't get them). Meh, I'm just happy I got what I did, though (and didn't nerd out too much) FREE COMIC BOOK DAY BUT DON'T TAKE IT FROM ME, TAKE IT FROM STAN THE MAN!
