First this. Yeah, science, that's important technology.
and then this (which was at least just an 'art instillation', but still)
'Acclaimed artist Jordan Wolfson's imagination brought this animatronic figure to life with a little help from his friends at Spectral Motion. The piece is currently being exhibited at David Zwirner Gallery in New York. The figure incorporates facial recognition technology, allowing her to focus on, and unnervingly follow, visitors at the exhibition.'

Guess there will eventually be no need for real human companionship of any type. It’ll be like in Blade Runner, or A.I. (Jude Law as Gigolo Joe, for instance), human replicants, and when you get tired of them, you can just take them to a refuse center and have them ‘deactivated’ and get a new one. Just like with any technology today, you trade one in for a newer, better, more efficient or pleasing one.
Prostitutes, I suppose, would lose their jobs except for anyone that wanted to be old-fashioned and go retro.
And who’d need a real person in their life anymore, when you could have a Stepford one?
