yeah, it's a spoof.....or is it!?!
I found this very thought provoking, but what is the solution?
And if it’s been indoctrinated into our ‘civilization’ since forever, can there ever be change? The human resource. ....some animals, even of different species, can prove much more devoted to one another in friendship, than some humans.
The one in the basket that peeps looks so surreal. Almost like a puppet. They are adorable! Sloth Squeaks and Sloth Speaks! An adaptation of the children's novel 'When Marnie Was There' by Joan Robinson. Synopsis of the out-of-print story from Amazon- 'Anna hasn't a friend in the world - until she meets Marnie among the sand dunes. But Marnie isn't all she seems...An atmospheric ghost story with truths to tell about friendship, families and loneliness. Anna lives with foster parents, a misfit with no friends, always on the outside of things. Then she is sent to Norfolk to stay with old Mr and Mrs Pegg, where she runs wild on the sand dunes and around the water. There is a house, the Marsh House, which she feels she recognises - and she soon meets a strange little girl called Marnie, who becomes Anna's first ever friend. Then one day, Marnie vanishes. A new family, the Lindsays, move into the Marsh House. Having learnt so much from Marnie about friendship, Anna makes firm friends with the Lindsays - and learns some strange truths about Marnie, who was not all she seemed...' I think Studio Ghibli will do justice to this very beautiful and moving story. Latest news has it the theme song, 'Fine On The Outside', will be performed by Priscilla Ahn of the USA.
Yeah, if he had only made 'four', the title would have been better. Meh, Anyway, here is 'Wrapped Alone in Kindness' (from Studio Ghibli’s Kiki’s Delivery Service 'Wrapped in Kindness') cover by Shuttoken who 'cloned' himself (not for reals, of course) in this creative video. Clone Mores! Shuttoken And while we are sort of on the topic, here is the trailer for the live action film, 'Kiki's Delivery Service' which was released the beginning of this month in Japan. Whether it will be released to the US, is unknown. (It was not made by Studio Ghibli, though had their approval.) Here is the trailer for the Disney dubbed (which contained some changes) release of the original animated version- Found this on Veoh (full dubbed version)- I dunno. I think perhaps we have to look at the big picture and make priorities. Bringing back an extinct species, I should think, depends on why it went extinct in the first place. Was it from the natural order of things or was it something we did by either over-hunting, deforestation, pollution, bringing in other species that overwhelmed indigenous ones, etc.? I agree we need to concentrate on stopping further extinction of our fellow inhabitants of this planet, but shouldn't we be more concerned with, say, saving the ocean, before saving the whales? Saving the forests, waterways, glaciers...our natural environment? That would make the most sense to me, but I am not a scientist. Yeah, I may not be the Lorax, but I speak for the trees nonetheless. And here is something else to take up 20+ more minutes of your time. |
