Immortan Joe was like a father/god figure, especially to the War Boys, and also felt he would father a new, healthy and unblemished human race.
Besides being a dictator, that is. In his way, he was trying to create some type of order in what was a dying world (someone I admire muchly taught me that rarely is anything black or white, so now I look at all those subtle shades of grey between...or at least try to), but this is about fathers and not about Fury Road.
Anyway, in regards to the article above, it's obvious that 'Mom' and 'Mommy' are derived from 'Mother', with the 'Mo' and all, though one would think it would be more 'Mot' and Motty', just as 'Father' would be 'Fat' or 'Fatty' :)
Fam or Fammy could be alternatives I spose. Instead, 'Dad' and 'Daddy' are used.
Hmm, the plural short for 'dads' in Spanish would be tatas' *hehehe* :) doesn't make sense, guys do have them, generally not as large as moms', and they can act like that word, but still, seems more what they should call moms for short<(was more amusing in my head)
In Finnish, dad is 'isä'....'isa your isä, Jar Jar* <(a little 'Star Wars' humour, yeah, very little, again, was more amusing in my head, and anyways, in Dutch father is 'Vader'....makes sense now? Yes? No?)
Irish would be close for daddy- 'daidí', or possibly Welsh- 'tad'
Turkmen it's 'däde', which is close, too, or 'kaka', which sounds the same as when the 'k' is replaced by a 'c' :) not to mention poo is 'ka' in Dutch, oh those Dutch!
Some dads are kaka :|
