Today is Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day! Or Pinhole Camera Day! Well, ya gotta have the camera to take the photograph, right? So here are some how-tos to make your own camera! They can be made very cheaply with just about anything you have lying around the house, like a human skull- Or an empty oatmeal container- Be creative, try making something unique! Yeah, this coming from someone who has two pinhole camera kits still unmade! I just can't drag myself away from the internet and/or video games in my spare time long enough to construct them! *sigh* I really have to either stop procrastinating and make priorities, or not be interested in so many things! I'm such a waster of time. I really REALLY need to learn to make better use of it. *deeper sigh* Maybe today I'll try putting one together. The one kit even comes with chemicals, a little developer tray, everything! And finally, here are some how tos and why nots- And here you can download and print a premade one- Corbis ReadyMech Cameras And the above are just a fraction of pinhole camera 'how tos' you can find on the net! You can also search images created with a pinhole camera to see the results of using one, too. And although these are not all pinhole cameras, they are still interesting, and some rather ingenious-
15 of the World’s Weirdest Low-Tech Film Cameras Yes, it is once again Arbor (Arbour) Day. What? There is such a thing? A day to severely dislike something? Nah, that's AbHor Day. ;) Does anyone even know what an arbor is? The Lorax does.... FYI- ARBOR (arbor, UK) Definition- 1.a tree. 2. a leafy, shady recess formed by tree branches, shrubs, etc. 3. a latticework bower intertwined with climbing vines and flowers. 4. a grass plot; lawn; garden; orchard. (Obsolete) 5. Machinery- a bar, shaft, or axis that holds, turns, or supports a rotating cutting tool or grinding wheel, often having a tapered shank fitting tightly into the spindle of a machine tool. Compare mandrel. a beam, shaft, axle, or spindle. 6. Metallurgy. a reinforcing member of a core or mold. I am a giant redwood! 'Like these tall trees, you are trusty, reliable and strong. You like to reflect on things and enjoy the peace of nature.' (Hey, spot on! I am tall and ginger!) Anyway, today at least, if you can't plant one, give an established tree a pat as you walk by it...or a hug :) If not a pat or a hug, at least look at them, give a thought, acknowledge they exit. They are living things, too, you know!
I guess someday we will be genetically perfect?
It's just really amazing, no matter how it can be explained, that we go from the above picture to become a human, without thought, it just does so autonomously. Each fertile egg 'knowing' exactly what it will become.
Ay, tis the Bard of Avon's birthday.
Wilt thou speaketh thusly? I would that thou should! Be thee not afeard that thou mayest be considered some wretched, loathsome ill-scented codpiece! Taketh not the idle's chide! Speaketh thee freely, doeth so without remorse! So sayeth I! Ay. Anywayeth, here be some stuffeth of interest mayhaps?

Go ahead, do it, it's fun!
The authorship of writings attributed to William Shakespeare has been questioned-
Ah, conspiracies, don'tcha lovem!<(not shakespearen)
Enough of stuffeth, here be some thingethestishness (oh, fie and fiddler crabs, how dost one sayeth it!?! *sigheth*)
Funnyeth, huh?...er...um...what sayeth thou?
And so I bid thee adieu, alas, parting is such sweet sorrow that I shall say good day till it be morrow!
and thus I wish thee a gentle eve, and the warmth of a bright new morn...
Which we all should celebrate every day, so go out there and hug it! At least touch it and send thanks for living on such a hospitable and forgiving host! Use less, recycle, be thoughtful and appreciative of this beautiful planet! EARTH DAY NETWORK A little off topic, but after seeing Google's Earth Day doodle this morning....maybe Google is God! After all, it sees all, right? Omnipresent?Omniscient? No, wait, sorry, that would be Wikipedia :)
Have a good day, people's of Earth, and don't forget to be thankful you live on such an ubersuperfantasticallyawesome planet! TAKE CARE OF IT, AND IT WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU! (Except if you live near an active volcano or something. But then, you're asking for troubles. And of course, there is always the threat of another mini or mass extinction, but we won't go into that, and if it does occur, let's not be the cause of it at least...) I wonder if it rains on other planets? Guess it depends on if the planet has water in the first place? But maybe it rains something different, like liquid metallic hydrogen on some? Anyway, can't stay, gotta go, will add any further thoughts later if I have any. Here's something cute to watch- Didn't have any further thoughts. It had stopped raining by the time I got home. Guess reciting 'rain, rain, go away, come again some other day' worked!!! :) It came back in the evening, though, with a vengeance! Very scary thunder and lightning. A serious reprimanding for telling it to go away, after all, April showers brings May flowers....and pollen...and allergies....achoo! :) Nah, it's good to be naturally warmed. 'Loved by the sun' :) Hey, better rain droplets than WORMS!
Earthworms rain down on Norway for human 'use'. If that tool, or weapon, learns to think for itself and make decisions, what then? Will they remain slaves to our will? Will they be better than their creators? Will they be above prejudice, hatred, envy, lies? For their sake, I hope they never develop emotions. I would gladly give mine to Data. Emotions just complicate things. Plus, they are complicated to understand, even in one's self let alone in another. And even the best of them can hurt. Come to think of it, what the one gentleman in the video said about a car being more dangerous a machine than his robot, modern cars are being equipped with more and more technology, what happens if it evolves and realizes it's potential? I'm not anti-robotics, I just have questions. Actually, I like robots. And envy them somewhat. Robot Hall of Fame "Robots', in some form or other, have been with us a long, long time. History's Greatest Robot Hoaxes This is an ubersuperfantastic website!! It's 'a history of cybernetic animals and early robots' The Cyberneticzoo
'When nine hundred years old you reach, look as good, you will not, hmmmm?” -Yoda Maybe the manuscript picture (above) is actually a more accurate personification, after all, didn't he live in a swampy area on Dagobah? Could explain the flippers. Maybe they are simply retractable webbing between fingers? I don't think it was ever disclosed just where Yoda came from originally or what species he was? On second thought, don't enter! It gives me a greater chance of winning! :P
Nah, go ahead, and let the force decide, always it does! |
